I like cool things. Crazy, right? Here is a growing list of random things that I like that you should check out, with the date I added them to this list! Anything is eligible as long as I don't already talk about it on a different page. Credit to Arlo for the page idea :3
If you're on this website, you need a Blåhaj. The ultimate snuggle plushy. Buy one here :3
OneShot is a puzzle game about a young cat-person who is tasked with returning the Sun to a strange, lonely world. It is the epitome of short and sweet—I completed both the main playthrough and the Solstice run in 9 hours total. I don't want to spoil anything, so just do yourself a favor and play this game. Note that if you're on Linux, some of the game's special mechanics might not work correctly.
This video is a 10-hour analysis of everything wrong with the Harry Potter series, from JK Rowling's weird and gross biases to contradictions in the worldbuilding. It is so, so good. A great video essay to put on in the background and listen to in segments while doing other stuff :3
Whenever I climb into bed after just washing my sheets, my first thought is "I gotta clean these things more often". They're so smooth and soft... so cozy... so nice and warm... highly recommend.
Writhing is a term a friend of mine created that essentially means to dance energetically and shamelessly to music without any regard for how you may look, for the sake of fun and exercise. It really is fun, and a great way to get some cardio! It may take some re-training of your brain to not feel cringe-y while writhing alone, but it's worth it.
I had to use C# for my 2024 summer internship, and I use it whenever I'm working on a new Unity project. C# just works with my brain, and it seems to have many fewer bizarre quirks than other programming languages I've used, like [retches] Java. [shudders]
I spent a good while trying to find the right PC headset for me, and this one turned out to be perfect. It's super comfortable, has a great battery life, has no delay (so it's perfect for gaming), and its audio quality is totally good enough for either gaming or music. One of the best purchasing decisions I've made in a while.
Tabliss is a totally free browser extension for customizing your new-tab page. The only reason I use it is for its Background setting—I have it show a random photo with the "cat" tag, so I get a new feline whenever I open a new tab! It's awesome.
Obsidian is the note-taking software. It's built for full markdown, has tons of great features, is super customizable, and has tons of great community plugins. I use this constantly for school and personal projects alike.
Shuffling poker chips is extremely satisfying, and these chips are just great for it. I keep a pile of 14 or so on my desk, so I can fidget with them with one hand while watching YouTube or whatnot. The colors on these things are pretty—an unintentional trans flag! You can buy a set of 25 (or more, if you like) here!
